Rooted in hope and modeled on St. Monica’s steadfast faith, the manual offers simple instructions for Holy Hours, group meetings, book discussions, devotional practices, and outreach programs. Paperback : $9.99 USD | Kindle : $9.99 USD

TESTIMONIALS

“Many, if not most, faithful Catholics have loved ones who are not involved in the sacramental life of the Church. Supporting those Catholics with both prayer and compassion is the St. Monica Ministry, a vibrant and much-needed outreach that we are very blessed to have in the Diocese of Allentown. Created to meet those demands, the St. Monica Ministry Manual not only enables dioceses to implement the St. Monica Ministry program, but it also equips the average Catholic in the pew to es-tablish a parish-based St. Monica Ministry chapter.”– from the Foreword, Bishop Alfred A. Schlert, Diocese of Allentown, PA

“The St. Monica Ministry Manual beautifully unites pastoral compassion with practical guidance. It empowers parishes to become sanctuaries of hope where prayer, community, and perseverance converge for the return of loved ones to the fullness of faith.” – Dr Sebastian Mahfood, OP, co-author with Ronda Chervin of Catholic Realism

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Celeste is an award-winning writer and speaker whose articles, reviews, and interviews have appeared in the National Catholic RegisterCatholic Digest, and numerous other Catholic publications.  Celeste’s diocesan newspaper column, “The Catholic Storyteller,” took First Place in the 2021 Catholic Press Awards. But her many years of storytelling did not prepare Celeste for the twist her own life story would take in 2008, when her son publicly announced that he was “an outspoken atheist.”

Her son’s break from the Faith prompted Celeste to found the St. Monica Ministry, a global support community and prayer network for the families and friends of fallen-away Catholics. The St. Monica Ministry Manual, which outlines a parish-based program to draw prodigals back to the fullness of faith, has given rise to more than 30 St. Monica Ministry chapters in the United States, and has been distributed to subscribers on five continents. Through the St. Monica Ministry, faithful Catholics are finding solidarity, solace, and the strength to accompany their loved ones on their journey home to the Church.

Time! Ladies and Gentlemen: A Few Thoughts on Last Things–In response to James Sale’s Trilogy: HellWard, StairWell, and DoorWay

by Francis Etheredge

Where to begin? Emerging as we do into consciousness, our life is yet a dialogue although, not thinking it through, we do not realise that our life is answered, as it were, by a word of the Lord. And so there are many events which, in their own diverse ways, indicate that there is another, “Other”, who is speaking to us. But, given a general Ignorance of Scripture, there is both an Ignorance of Christ, as St. Jerome said, but there is also another, almost equally significant, Self-Ignorance.

Taking a start, then, in the work of James Sale, this short book is about that journey into God which is simultaneously a journey into ourselves. Join the journey! Read, repent, and begin again: Repeat!
