ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Patricia (Patti) Hershwitzky, Ed.S., is the author of three other books: The Third Millennium Woman (CMJ Catholic Books), West Las Vegas (Arcadia Publications), and Teaching the City of God in the City of Man (En Route Books and Media); articles in various Catholic periodicals and Catholic365; and numerous other published communications.

Mary Ott is new to the Christian publishing environment. A cradle-Catholic and a graduate of a Catholic college in California, Mary fully returned to the Catholic faith in early 2023, after a personal experience which she calls “nothing short of a miracle.” Following her illumination of conscience, she began a ‘journey of the soul’ back to Jesus.

While on this journey, she discovered her sister, Patti, was also a faith-soulmate, as well. Following hours of conversation with her sister about life as traditional women, wives, mothers, and grandmothers, along with discussing their differences and similarities, Mary and Patti began a mission to speak from their soul to others about how the modern world is a difficult pathway to walk as a faithful Catholic.

Fueled by a lifelong passion for writing, painting, photography, research, and genealogy after she retired from her business career in 2012, Mary combined her life experience and education skills to co-produce the book, Speaking One’s Soul. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Stephen Rouhana is a husband, father, and grandfather with a Ph.D. in physics. He worked for 32 years trying to save lives by automotive safety research, first at General Motors and then at Ford. He authored or co-authored more than 80 technical publications and 3 book chapters. He is a named inventor on 18 U.S. patents and 7 international patents. In 2008, he was featured in a nationally aired commercial for Ford Motor Company. Sales promptly dropped.

As a young Catholic, he felt called to serve God. Near the end of his career in research, that calling led him to Sacred Heart Major Seminary for a master’s degree in Pastoral Studies. Donald G Boland Ll. B. (Sydney), Ph. D. (Angelicum) is a founding member of the Centre for Catholic Studies Inc. in Sydney Australia and is one of its former Presidents. He practiced for a number of years as a lawyer having a degree in law from the University of Sydney. Over much the same time, having obtained a doctorate in philosophy from the University of St. Thomas in Rome, he has taught philosophy and law in both Catholic and secular educational institutions, such as the University of Technology, Sydney, the University of Newcastle, the Aquinas Academy, the Centre for Thomistic Studies Inc., now operating under the name of the Centre for Catholic Studies Inc., and various Catholic seminaries, such as those of the Marists and the Vincentians. His doctoral thesis was on the concepts of utility and value in economics as found in the works of Aristotle and St. Thomas Aquinas.

Tabernacle Art Coloring Book

Give this book to your small children to help you make a visit to the tabernacle with them. The pictures are drawn from the art that decorates tabernacles. They tell a story or reveal a truth about Jesus that you can share with the littles. The book also has pages with prompts for children to create their own drawings.

Prepare for your visit. Start with a short visit at a time of day when you are not rushed, and the children are not hungry or tired. Talk to your children ahead of the visit. Tell them that the family is making a visit to Jesus and why. You can explain how Jesus is present in a special way as the Host kept inside the Tabernacle. Encourage them to look for the Host at Mass and to watch to see when the Host is put inside the tabernacle.

Teach them to make the sign of the cross and to kneel on one knee before the tabernacle because Jesus is present there. Explain that this is how we say hello and goodbye when we visit Him.

Let your children know that Jesus is here, that He loves you, He sees you, and He hears you. Encourage them to talk to Him quietly in their heads without words or to draw pictures for Him. Share with them the skill of listening. What is it that they hear when they are quiet? They can draw it to talk with you later about it.

After visiting the tabernacle together, look at their drawings and talk with them about the love Jesus has for them. Plan when you will go back.
