Chasing Noah

by Debra Abrams

Chasing Noah is a deeply moving novel about encountering the divine in the midst of unimaginable loss. It follows Dr. Muriel Pexi, a trauma physician navigating divorce and motherhood, whose life is shattered when a tragic accident claims her five-year-old son, Noah. After surviving the same incident that takes his life, Muriel awakens to a world irrevocably altered.

In the months and years that follow, she wrestles with a grief that is at once suffocating and disorienting, compounded by vivid dreams in which Noah appears alongside a mysterious child, Isho. As these encounters unfold, Isho emerges as a quiet but transformative presence, guiding Muriel toward a deeper understanding of her suffering and the possibility of healing.

Blending emotional realism with spiritual depth, Chasing Noah offers a fictional yet profoundly authentic portrayal of parental grief. It invites readers to inhabit Muriel’s raw interior world while gently opening the question of divine presence—not as abstraction, but as lived experience. Ultimately, it is a story of loss, longing, and the fragile, grace-filled path toward restoration.

A Rational Case for Life: Why the Unborn Matter by Dr. Randal L. N. Mandock

A Rational Case for Life: Why the Unborn Matter by Dr. Randal L. N. Mandock

A Rational Case for Life: Why the Unborn Matter

by Randal L. N. Mandock

This book was written as an advocacy for redefining terms related to pregnancy and its complications. The author considered this necessary because of the confusion among many about the scope of the challenges to the birth of babies in modern societies. The book proposes a method of revising definitions and terminology to make them more precise, accurate, and relevant than those currently in use.

Primarily religious in nature, the book addresses the misdirection and disinformation often found in counseling that favors abortion over birth, the nature of true religion and of life, the problems of in vitro fertilization and contraception, the origin and nature of man as willed by God, the nature of the one true God and His relationship to man, uncertainty in matters of human conception and pregnancy, the dignity of one human life, and a method and justification for a more accurate redefinition of medical terms related to pregnancy and abortion.

History demonstrates that the Magisterium of the Catholic Church has, for two millennia, charted a masterful path between authority and reason in man’s understanding of the origin and nature of human life. This is evident recently in its recognition, once again, of the virtue of prudence in assessing the start of an individual’s life.
