Selected Works of Frits Albers, Volume 4: Bound to the Virgin, The Victimhood of Our Blessed Lady, The Glories of the New Eve

by Frits Albers, edited by Frank Calneggia

Published in this present volume are three of the principal works of Frits Albers devoted to Our Blessed Lady.

  • Bound to the Virgin presents the True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary of St. Louis De Montfort from the perspectives of human reason and Catholic Faith.
  • The Victimhood of Our Blessed Lady is a short but profound treatise on the Mariology of the Second Vatican Council and the Dogmatic Definition of the Assumption which shortly preceded the Council.
  • The Glories of the New Eve is a guided study of the Wisdom Literature of the Old Testament where the Woman who is the Immaculate Conception is manifested under the aspect of created wisdom.

Written with a critical eye for the religious and socio-political deceptions of our age this volume will instruct, encourage and strengthen those who study and mediate upon it, and who put its principles into practise. It will bring them closer to their spiritual Mother, the Mother of the Church, the Woman of Genesis who received from the beginning the mission and power to crush the serpent’s head.

Paperback: $19.95 | Kindle: $9.99

TESTIMONIALS

“I welcome the appearance of Vol 4 of the writings of Frits Albers. To tell the truth, I would find it difficult to believe that a modern Catholic theologian of the highest order could have produced such a marvellous work on the Mother of God. But, then again, the author is evidently a person of deep if simple Catholic Faith, to whom is often granted insight into divine and human wisdom that is beyond the reach of many a modern Catholic theologian. Though myself a Catholic philosopher who has spent years of study of the teaching of the Church’s Common Doctor (Teacher) Saint Thomas Aquinas, I have gained more understanding of my Catholic Faith from this volume of Frits Albers than from any other that I can remember. It is such a shame that his discussion of the Mother of God and her relation to the Trinity and the Catholic Church was not widely publicised when he wrote them. They are in scriptural terms “pure gold”. I could support what I say in many ways, but it is better that readers find such by themselves, to their own great instruction in the Faith. I will make only a few comments. First of all, there is the wonderful exposition of the beauty of the doctrine concerning the various roles of the Virgin Mary, exalted because firmly based on quotations from Scripture, the Magisterium and saints such as St. Louis de Montfort. This in itself would make the work worthy of profound study. But, then, there is the critical side of the discussion that goes into the deceptions that abound in recent times, especially since Vatican II and in its interpretation. The author’s incisive mind in this regard goes back to his early education in Holland under Jesuits supposed to be teaching Aquinas, and extends to his experience after he migrated to Australia in his late 20’s or early 30’s. His critique of what passed for Catholic education from that time is devastating.  This may explain why his work was not widely disseminated for so long. One may observe, however, that things have not improved but gotten infinitely worse. The smoke of Satan’s deceptiveness was perhaps not noticed by others early in the piece.  It has now come out in all its brazenness and pride that it is celebrated within the aisles of St. Peter’s in Rome itself. That is a side of the present volume that many I am sure will find a medicine too difficult to take, so much to their dis-ease. My advice to them is swallow your pride and you will find a new joie de vivre, even in this seemingly negative respect. The whole volume is a joy to read.” – Dr. Donald Boland, author of a 12-volume series on St. Thomas Aquinas and a 6-volume series on various modern-day thinkers and events

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Frits Albers Ph. B (1921-2000) was born in Holland and studied under the Jesuits at Nijmegen during the 1940s.  He emigrated to Australia in 1951, and travelled extensively within the south-east region of the ‘lucky country’.  He joined the Department of Education in Victoria and worked as a high school teacher who specialised in mathematics, French and English.

In the early post Vatican II period he realised that the strange interpretations of the recently concluded Council that were being forced upon Catholics were under pinned by the same philosophy he had been taught in the 1940’s by the Jesuits at Nijmegen in the name of St Thomas Aquinas, but which in reality was the systematic Modernism of Pierre Teilhard De Chardin, S.J. Thus, in the early 1970’s he began writing articles and books to expose the philosophical root of these errors and aberrations of Teilhard De Chardin, and to defend Catholic Faith, clear thinking, and right philosophy.

ABOUT THE EDITOR

The editor is a retired electrical engineer who worked for most of his professional career in the specialist area of power generation. In a sabbatical year, he completed post graduate research in the History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Melbourne. He has long loved the philosophy of St Thomas Aquinas.
