TESTIMONIALS

“The best philosophers tell us that being precedes action. We must know ourselves as beloved in Christ before we can behave like Christians. Written by both a pastor-theologian and a behavioral psychologist, Simply Catholic presents the Catholic faith not only as a set of truths to be believed, but as treasury of wisdom that gives life direction and purpose. I recommend this lucid and engaging text to young people especially who struggle with faith in our technologically saturated age.” – Bishop James Massa, Rector of St. Joseph’s Seminary

“Dr. Yeager and Fr. Bissex present the Catholic faith clearly, accessibly, and engagingly. Yet Simply Catholic: Walking the Walk offers more than an explanation of Catholic teaching. By exploring our human tendencies through the complementary lenses of psychology and faith, the authors invite readers to deeper self-knowledge and a more authentic relationship with God and others. St. Paul captures the inner struggle of every disciple striving to live the faith in a fallen world: “What I do, I do not understand. For I do not do what I want, but I do what I hate” (Rom. 7:15). Even when we know what the Church teaches and sincerely desire to live it, we often fall short and find ourselves returning to God’s mercy. Simply Catholic: Walking the Walk helps us see these human shortcomings as opportunities to better understand ourselves, discover how God intended us to live, and ultimately find true freedom in Him—who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” – Rev. JunHee Lee, STL,LMHC, Coordinator of Human Formation, Formation Advisor

“With pastoral wisdom and psychological insight, Yeager and Bissex remind us that Catholicism is not merely a collection of beliefs but a way of life. Their practical guidance helps readers transform faith into faithful action.” – Dr. Sebastian Mahfood, OP, co-author with Ronda Chervin of Catholic Realism
